Job Summary

Unified Strategic is seeking an experienced RFP Response/Technical Proposal Writer to develop proposal content by assembling information, creating solutions/outcomes/benefits outlines, and writing compelling text with win themes and differentiators. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, an understanding of business process management / enterprise software and IT solution implementations for government agencies, and two or more years of experience responding to technical RFPs from small to large firms and most importantly government organizations, coupled with strong writing and communication skills. The RFP Response Writer will gather information from existing Unified Strategic RFP responses, documentation, and technical experts within the company, write a draft response, obtain approvals, and finally submit the proposal and supporting documents to President for final review and submittal

 

Responsibilities

  • Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, approach, coordination, and boilerplates
  • Write, revise, and edit drafts of Federal Government proposal responses (including executive summaries and technical, management, past performance, resume, and pricing sections), white papers, responses to Requests For Information (RFIs), and marketing material
  • Review and edit sections drafted by other contributors
  • Edit documents and technical literature prepared by other staff members for content, coverage, clarity, and voice consistency, recommending revisions and editorial standards as appropriate
  • Synthesize raw content from various sources into a cohesive and comprehensive passage
  • Maintain quality results by using templates, following proposal-writing standards, including readability, consistency, and tone, and maintaining proposal support databases
  • Ensure final submission is compliant with regulations and instructions in the solicitation
  • Determine proposal requirements by identifying and clarifying objectives within the RFPs
  • Carefully review the RFP to understand what the client wants
  • Complete documents within strict timeframes while affording suitable time for review periods
  • Review and interpret Requests for Proposal (RFP) requirements to develop comprehensive, compliant proposal outlines and writing templates
  • Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information, and coordinating with key providers and other internal contributors for additional information if needed
  • Produce quality responses to RFPs by following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone
  • Establish priorities and target dates to ensure that the proposals are submitted on time
  • Track and Maintain records of all proposals submitted and received
  • Work with our developers to design a response to proposal tracking and management system as part of a business suite
  • Gather and store feedback on proposals to help improve proposal content and process
  • Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with persuasive responses

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (English, Business Administration, Technical Writing)
  • English (Required)
  • 4+ years of technical proposal writing experience in response to Federal Government RFPs, and RFIs
  • Team player
  • Proven technical writing skills and track record of creating compelling, clear, and succinct documents
  • Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Excellent writing, organizational, communication and planning skills

Experience

  • Understanding of win themes, proposal concepts, and the business development lifecycle
  • Understanding of the Federal market and government proposals
  • Experience with Microsoft including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
