Job Summary

Unified Strategic is seeking a ServiceNow Architect to work with one our clients located in Seattle, WA. The client’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department is a shared services organization that supports an even larger organization.

ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which supports the larger institution, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the mission.

The ServiceNow Architect will provide expert guidance in the design and use of the ServiceNow platform to effectively meet the administrative needs of the institution. This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining technical oversight of the system design of our ServiceNow implementation such that we can maintain a healthy and sustainable platform.


  • Maintains in-depth functional knowledge of ServiceNow components and capabilities.
  • Provides technical leadership in the implementation of ServiceNow capabilities to support enterprise IT services (e.g. ITSM, ITBM, ITOM & ITFM).
  • Provides technical leadership in the implementation of other ServiceNow capabilities to support other administrative functions (e.g. HR Service Delivery, Audit Management).
  • Provides technical leadership in the design and delivery of custom solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Establishes technical principles to guide custom development on the platform.
  • Collaborates with a larger group of Business SMEs, and IT professionals to set technical direction for the delivery of solutions that would be hosted or dependent on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Establishes, maintains, and documents a comprehensive understanding of the system design of the ServiceNow implementation and its dependencies.
  • Assists in precise, effective requirements gathering.
  • Assists in keeping a pulse on upcoming needs of stakeholders.
  • Advocates for the progressive application of modern platform capabilities and development techniques.
  • Assists in the definition of policies and processes that will support a healthy and sustainable ServiceNow platform.
  • Participates in relevant architecture boards and committees.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Approximately 5 years of ServiceNow implementation experience
  • Approximately 8 years of IT experience
  • Experience implementing ServiceNow ITSM in an IT organization.
  • Experience developing custom applications on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience implementing inbound and outbound integrations with a ServiceNow environment.
  • Proficiency in customizing ServiceNow through form customizations, business rules, workflows,
  • client scripts, script includes, UI policies, security rules, and other ServiceNow constructs.
  • Experience establishing and enforcing systems design and architectural standards
  • Experience implementing integrations through IntegrationHub
  • Experience with ServiceNow-to-ServiceNow integrations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present ideas and processes to senior leadership with varying levels of technology acumen.
  • Proficiency in authoring/editing technical documentation.
  • Experience performing requirements gathering.
  • Experience operating in small and large teams and collaborating with technical and non-technical roles.
  • Experience defining and implementing technical principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, web development, and relational databases.
  • Experience leading technical teams in complex, dynamic environments collaborating with and managing teams across multiple projects.
  • Experience managing change across multiple ServiceNow environments.
  • Proficiency with version control and CI/CD solutions.
  • Experience in complete project life cycle activities in development and maintenance projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering solutions within defined timeframes.

Preferred Experience

  • ITIL Certification
  • ServiceNow Certifications (e.g. Application Developer, System Administrator, Architect)
  • Experience with net new ServiceNow implementation
  • Experience implementing ServiceNow ITBM/ITOM/ITFM
  • Experience implementing other ServiceNow applications such as GRC or HRSD
  • Experience in developing and maintaining scoped applications in ServiceNow
  • Experience contributing to a formal architecture program
